Over the holiday I had a green and a pink ball of Paton's wool. What to knit with it while going over the river and through the woods?Knitted up the Christmas Rose Gift Bag from Melanie Falick's "Handknit Holidays" book. But to give it more durability I felted it. Added an extra inch at the bottom with a little pattern repeat to make it deeper. Knitted I-cord through eyelets is not felted. A red plastic Folger's coffee can fits perfectly for blocking. You can still see the five lines on bottom where I decreased two stitches every other row. Pattern called for one stitch every row but I didn't like the spiral effect.
